Att of Illumination branch has commenced education in 1986-1987 educational year. With the Basic A1t Design course in the first year, students take courses on calligraphy, bookbinding, illumination (gilding) miniature painting and art of marbling which are three mai factors of manuscripts throu g h the second y ear. Design courses in the existing programme helps tudents to produce new unique designs : in addition, students come to a level that they are able to make analysis of a finished composition and complete its lacking or destructed parts . In the meantime, with the courses of conservation-restoration of manuscripts and architectural ornamentation , students can evaluate miniature painting and illumination in today’s artistic conception and take effective roles in transferring our cultural heritage to future generations.
