Department of Performing Arts had been founded in 1976. There are three majors such as Acting, Dramatic Writing and Dramaturgy, and Stage Design within the department. The purpose of the Department is to graduate qualified artists who are needed for the majors such as the Acting, Dramatic Writing and Dramaturgy, and Stage Design in Turkey and in the world. Also, the department aims to reach a model of a graduate artist who makes objective research on any given subject, concludes the research results with a scientific method, makes an artistic interpretation based on this result, and applies this interpretation to an artistic style.
