COURSE CONTENTS

BASIC DESIGN I- TEM 1101

The course named BASIC DESIGN I, consists of three separate courses such as 2Dimensional Design I, Color I and Studies of Object and Line I. The course of two dimensional design is structured to emphasize the basic design elements and principles in two dimensional composition.

In the course of color, the basic properties and definitions of color, the science and art of color is thought as theoretical . Also, the 12-hue color wheel, pigment and light colors, color contrasts, color harmonies are thought with the practical projects. Students apply to their works the painting techniques and the concepts of color.

On the other hand, in the study of object and line studies course, basic introduction is done by giving theoretical information about basic perspective. The subject of perspective is shown with cubic and cylindrical form created by a single line from simle to complex.

BASIC DESIGN II-TEM 1102

The course named BASIC DESIGN II, consists of three separate courses such as 2 Dimensional Design II, 3 Dimensional Design and Color II. The course of two dimensional design is structured to emphasize the basic design elements and principles in two dimensional composition.

In the course of color, optical and psychological dynamics of color relationships, color analysis, color-space, color-balance, color-rhythm relationships are thought with both theoretical and practical projects. A variety of techniques, materials, techniques are used to investigate the aesthetic, scientific, and psychological characteristics of color.

On the other hand, in the 3 Dimensional Design course, addition to the 2 Dimensional Design Principles, students learns to work and practice 3 dimensional design principles and elements such as plane, mass, volume, motion, place, size, color, light, surface and context. To be able to create three dimensional forms, students works with different kinds of materials like; wood, steel, paper, wire and etc. by using mass, space, time, movement and light.

Students draw as photo-realistic the designed object and organic object ; Also, in this course students make drawings with different lines and learn the study of value.

BASIC DRAWING II- TEM 1201

The studets in this course are aimed to be able to draw and express tehe darwing techniques by live model and different figures drawing with different kinds of material usage.

BASIC DRAWING II- TEM 1202

The course named BASIC DRAWING II, consists on different material techniques and model drawings. Model drawings divides into two parts. In first part students experiments different kinds of drawing materials and draws objects and figures, and in the scond part students will draw from a live model to learn the correct anatomy of a human body.

INTRODUCTION TO ART AND DESIGN- TEM 1410

The students in this course are aimed: 1.To be able to develop the awareness of visual repertoire of art and design principles. 2. To be able to make a criticism about self art expression and progress of creativity with interdisciplinar art and design examples. 3. To be able to develop the conceptual, analytical and creative thinking skills with discussions. 4. To be able to learn the terminology of color through critics and discussion, colour psychology and usage of colour in art history. 5. To be able to assessment different approaches to framing and composition

BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY- TEM 1021 

PROF. MEHMET KOŞTUMOĞLU, Ph.D.

The course focuses on history of photography, stages of chemical-physics and electronic stages along with the properties of a camera, lighting, and lenses. It is designed to teach  proper use of frame snapshot, diaphragm-shutter and diaphragm. Students are going to be trained in subject shooting and able to practice in studio. Students are highly encouraged to project on their own.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY- TEM 1022 

PROF. MEHMET KOŞTUMOĞLU, Ph.D.

The course teaches how to use digital cameras and master the computer programmes on developing digital photos.

ARTISTIC ANATOMY- TEM 1006 

ASST. PROF. YILDIZ ERSAĞDIÇ

Recognizing anatomic structure of human body and comprehend these within part-whole/motion relation.

METHODS OF VISUAL THINKING- TEM 1420 

In this course it is aimed to discuss the factors that effect to visual thinking and creativity with interdiciplinar art history examples.

TECHNICAL DRAWING AND PERSPECTIVE-TEM 1007

This course involves the education of the techniques which are necessary for expressing the designs existing in life, their conversion into designs, their designing before production and their problems. In this process, designs are of great priority.

DIGITAL VISUALISATION AND DRAWING TECHNIQUES- TEM 1301 

LECT. BETÜL USLU ÖZKAN

The studies about visual perception show that we don?t sense the world and the images as they are but we form them. We are not only a passive camera, even an instantaneous photo that we choose plays a role in our active interpretation of the world. In this lesson it is aimed to re-shape all that we see starting from our daily life to visual images in visual communication design and artworks.

PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY- TEM 3025 

PROF. MEHMET KOŞTUMOĞLU, Ph.D.

Course, product photography, studio shots, especially the emphasis on techniques and materials. Students in this course, a product photograph studio shot, and how best to make it ready ad must find answers to the questions: How to process what program.

TECHNIQUES OF INTERFERENCE TO MOTION PICTURE DESIGN- TEM 3100

LECT. MELİH TOMAK

In the era, when motion picture used in interdisciplinary artistic applications changes often, the aim is to introduce students to post-processing motion picture techniques. The aim is to introduce students to computer technology and softwares that they can use for applying to creative projects in various medias and forms. The aim is to provide the usage of computer programs used in this field (Adobe CC, Final Cut and Da Vinci Resolve).

COMPUTER APPLICATIONS FOR NEW MEDIA-TEM 3110 

LECT. MELİH TOMAK

This course aims for students to editing stable and motion picture, editing audio, music and visuals, computer usage skills, using computer applications that can be used for digital visual editing (Adobe CC Photoshop, Premiere, Media Encoder, InDesign) and practice for group projects. One of the aims of the course is how they will present their works during the term on internet.
