ADVISORY BOARD DIRECTIVE

Purpose, Scope, Basis, and Definition

Aim

The purpose of this Directive is to establish its own Advisory Board to share experience and to determine the working procedures and principles of Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts Fashion Apparel Design Department, to ensure the sustainability of cooperation between public and private sector organizations and other stakeholders and to ensure the sustainability of this cooperation.

Scope

This Directive covers the formation of the Advisory Board, which will be established to ensure sustainable cooperation with external stakeholders, to develop relations and to share experience, and the working procedures and principles of the Department of Fashion Apparel Design, Faculty of Fine Arts, Dokuz Eylul University.

Rest

This Directive is in accordance with the clause (f) of Article 44 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 dated 04.11.1981 and the “Regulation on Establishment of Advisory Boards in Higher Education Institutions” published in the Official Gazette dated 08.10.2016 and numbered 29851. It was created in accordance with the “Dokuz Eylül University Advisory Board Directive” dated /2017-476/16 and numbered.

Definition

Program External Advisory Board: Refers to the advisory board of the Department of Fashion Clothing Design, Undergraduate, Associate and Graduate programs.

Advisory Board, Duties and Responsibilities and Working Procedures and Principles

Advisory Board

The Program Advisory Board is chaired by the Head of the Department and consists of Deputy Heads of Departments, members selected from the internal stakeholders of the program, and representatives of public and private sector organizations that are familiar with the program.

The Advisory Board is formed by the Departmental Board.

Duties of the Advisory Board

  1. a) To develop and strengthen relations and cooperation with public and private sector institutions, organizations and professional chambers in the fields where the Fashion Clothing Design Department operates,

 

  1. b) To exchange ideas on the requests and suggestions of external stakeholders,

 

  1. c) To contribute to the increase, development, dissemination and continuous improvement of the quality in education,

 

ç) To support and assist implementation studies in the relevant field by cooperating with non-university institutions and organizations,

 

  1. d) To make suggestions about the knowledge and skills expected from graduates in order to meet the employment needs in the public and private sectors,

 

  1. e) Internships, mentoring, etc. of the educational activities of the University. ways to contribute to the enrichment,

 

  1. f) To give opinions and suggestions to increase the recognition of the university.

 

 

Working Procedures and Principles of the Advisory Board

 

The procedures for the work of the Advisory Board are as follows:

  1. a) The Advisory Board convenes at least twice a year, at the beginning and end of the academic year, upon the call of the President.
  2. b) The agenda of the Board is prepared by the Chairman. In the preparation of the agenda, the suggestions of the Board members are taken into consideration. The demands of the University, Faculty and the Program are first put on the agenda and discussed. The agenda is notified to the members electronically at least three working days before the meeting date.
  3. c) The Board convenes with the majority of the total number of members and takes decisions with the majority of those attending the meeting. Upon the decision of the chairman of the board or upon the request of the majority of the board members, persons or field representatives who are not members of the board can be invited to the meeting and their views can be heard. However, these persons cannot participate in voting.
  4. e) Board decisions are advisory. Board meetings and decisions are reported and shared with the relevant units. Board decisions are presented to the Department Board and/or Committees/Working Groups, as appropriate, and discussed there.
